Do I have to be vegan or plant-based to receive a grant from Phauna?

Yes. Our mission is to end all forms of animal exploitation, which includes any use of animals for food.

How much time does it take to get my grant approved?

We process grant applications on a quarterly basis (typically, at the end of each calendar quarter). At most, expect a 4-month turnaround.

What is the average grant amount you generally approve?

Most of our grants are between $25,000 and $250,000. We occasionally make smaller grants as well.

Does Phauna provide grants anywhere in the world?

Our primary focus is the United States. However, we will consider grantees elsewhere when the work can be used as a model, or when there are spillover effects into the U.S.

How does Phauna distribute payment to grantees?

We can make transfers via Paypal, wire transfer, or bitcoin.
